just for those who don't know the 05 focus radios have a fdifferent plug for the radio than the 04 models

is the '05 a different radio? If it is the different harness would make sense. It would be easier for ford to source a new radio and associated connector(harness), than sourcing a new radio with the correct connector.

Yes, the '05 radio is also Double din, as opposed to the din 1.8 size from before. The manufactur of the radio will also determine what connector it uses. 98 to 04 standard radio were made by Visteon, the MP3 headunit, which was the same shape was made by Blaupunkt, so the harness was different.

B) the harness is like the one in the marauder and new f-150 and freestar. the new radio is better looking than the older focus, but not as good of quality i find. therefore it is now out on the shelf and my alpine is in. It was friggin EASY, bench wired the harness, then popped the facia off and four screws and a plug later i was tuning the alpine B)
