Do the cabs usually come off to do a motor swap? Seems like a lot of work.

I work for Keystone Automotive. I work in the sales department and have about 100 accounts that I look after. I am going to be going to New York, Pennsylvaina, and Texas soon for Trade Shows and Training. No pictures as it is basically just a call centre here in Canada.

RE: Whatcha Do???? - Jmountney1 - 01-21-2011

I took mechanical engineering tec in college but im working for R.W Tomlinson (road construction)

RE: Whatcha Do???? - Focus man. Focus. - 01-21-2011

I'm a Tomlinson. Not sure if there is any relation though. It isn't very often that name comes up.

I'm currently a Radio Frequency Technician. It's a job where I won't fall asleep at. My previous role, I was a Network Analyst more involved in the behind the scenes network layers, provisioning, testing, reports, etc.

Too bad there's not really any pics I can post. but theres a cool video floating around the net of a guy climbing a Broadcast Antenna, that's something I always wanted to do.

RE: Whatcha Do???? - reldridge - 01-21-2011

I'm a network specialist for a small part of DND in Ottawa, but I get to travel a bit, mainly out west (Cold Lake AB, Comox BC, Victoria BC, etc.). I'm a Cisco switch and Juniper firewall guy, as well as Windows server and workstations. Basically, if it plugs into my network, I'm partly responsible for it...

RE: Whatcha Do???? - Drivesthebeast - 01-21-2011

Canadian Army, Regforce. Until Jan 1 of this year, I would have been called a Sig Op by trade, but we are now called ACISS Techs, and since I'm not currently a specialist, I'm kinda a "Jack of all trades, master of none" kind of communicator. Currently posted to the NCR.

well they come off not just for motor swaps, but just to remove the turbochargers, exhaust piping, injector pumps, headgaskets. They really crammed those 6.4L in there lol

Good thing I take stare everywhere to stay fit!

RE: Whatcha Do???? - NefCanuck - 01-22-2011

I work as a paralegal for Mississauga Community Legal Services, a community legal clinic funded by Legal Aid Ontario, that gives advice, referrals & representation on poverty law issues for people who live in Mississauga and Malton.

I like to call what I practice "M.A.S.H. law" because a lot of it is triage work and figuring out the best, quickest and fastest way to get the clients what they want (if what they want is legally possible of course, we can't spin straw into gold Tongue)

No pics I'm afraid, but we do have a website (that we share with another local community legal clinic) and a Facebook page linked to that: Legal Clinics In Peel

RE: Whatcha Do???? - torradan - 01-22-2011

I do network cabling for Burman & Fellows. Currently doing rack upgrades for anything Loblaw's had their filthy little hands on. Super stores, Save Easy, Inter-marche, Your Independant Grocer, No Frills, and any other Loblaw's banners. There are also other companies but I've not worked on any of those jobs yet. Also a bunch of new projects coming up down the pipe. So far they've sent me to NB, NS, PEI, and BC. Do new construction and reno as well. Deal with copper and fiber cable, routers, switches, stupid people, and other stuff.

Right now, I make this:

Look like this (its not 100% complete yet, but its about 90%):

Ignore the stuff at the top, thats just a bandaid to make scales work until they get replaced with wireless. They were also upgraded to 48 port switches but never took a picture of it when we went back to that store.

Todd, can you wire a scale to the bathroom seat in my house, so I can tell my wife she is getting fat. LOL, if you can, can I stay at your house?

RE: Whatcha Do???? - Mystake - 01-22-2011

My job is a bit more lame than all of yours, I'm currently just a lowly worker on a golf course. I'm off for winters but I go back mid march.

Here's a picture of me on the tractor from a course I once worked at. Just gunna go ahead and say no counter weights = wheelies (not catwalks). No videos of it, but uh... let me confirm it was possible to go through 1st, 2nd and 3rd with the wheels in the air.

edit: added the following pics. I also really, really like what I do. I'm outdoors all day and I get a lot of independence when I am working.

Nothing wrong with liking what you're doing, no matter what you do. Nothing worse than getting up every day dreading going to work, no matter what they pay you!

I'm currently in a love-hate relationship with my work (I hate it, they love me). Starting to think its time to move on after 2.5 years.
