Air Filter - oldeguy - 10-07-2011 I'm looking at outting in a K&N air filter in my 2012 Focus. Apparently, it's the same as the 2008-2011 filter. Has anyone who owns a 2008-2011 put in a K&N filter, and what's the cost? RE: Air Filter - 2009SEL - 11-28-2011 I don't have one in our 2009.....yet. You and I talked about them at the cruise. If memory serves (yeah, right) ANDREWSFM has one on his black 2009 - he was on the cruise also. Good luck with your research. 2009... Should be 33-2401 for about $33 usd RE: Air Filter - buzz2.0 - 11-28-2011 i heard the 2012's have a cone style filter in it already, it just has an air box around it..... RE: Air Filter - oldeguy - 11-29-2011 I ordered a K&N from the dealer in October...................................................................................stillwaiting for it to be delivered to the dealership. He said it was cheaper for me if I bought it from the dealer. Right now, it's really cheap...... RE: Air Filter - NOS2Go4Me - 11-29-2011 Go to PartSource or any other "specialty" place and price it out. Also, check the K+N website. http://www.knfilters.com IMO, unless you're expecting flak from the dealer, just wait for a CAI or short-ram. Way better returns on your dollars than a panel filter. A decent CAI will be routed appropriately to minimize direct exposure to driven elements - rain, etc - and you'll be good to go (in the same vein as the 05-07 FSWerks CAI for the Duratec). Way better? either one will get you maybe 2-3 horsepower, power your not even going to feel. In a lot of cases, you will actually loose power in the middle rpm band, and gain up top... I use a k&n panel filter in all my vehicles, simple because in the long run its cheaper maintenance wise. RE: Air Filter - oldeguy - 12-04-2011 I went out and purchased my K&N filter, F@#$$$% the dealer. Installed it, it's a cone, not a drop in filter. looking at it, thinking, (not too hard, otherwise I'll hurt myself) without the air box cover top on it, it looks like a short ram air intake, and I'm wondering what'll happen if I leave the cover off of the air box....... |
