Timing belt - jtdanks - 09-29-2012 My phones dying and I'm going to get straight to the point Worth it do it yourself? Time and tools required? Cost if had someone else do it? Putting cam gears in at same time? RE: Timing belt - buzz2.0 - 09-29-2012 I did mine myself in my drive way....took a weekend, ull need a metal plate sorta thing to keep the cams from turning once the belt off, other then that theres no other special tools ull need...do the water pump while your in there. as for worth getting a shop to do it....it'll be expensive....if your capable do it your self...just dont f*ck up the timing! ![]() RE: Timing belt - adamzx5 - 09-30-2012 most cams come with a timing tool , if not massive speed systems sells them and it works awesome RE: Timing belt - stupica1 - 09-30-2012 The only part that sucks about doing timing yourself and swapping the cam gears is holding the cams and cam gears solid while trying to torque the camgear bolts. Which also you should replace with arp... I stripped 2 stock sets of camgear bolts trying to torque them down RE: Timing belt - kc focus - 10-03-2012 If you want I can do it for you I work out of my garage on the weekends |
