Old Keys + New Pcm? - SL8RZZX3 - 06-28-2008 OK i bought a PWSC kit a while back and it was brand new, BUT the guy had already sent out his computer to be re-flashed. Also included in the kit he sent his PCM, 1 key and ignition Cylinder. So what i am wondering is... If i go get 2 keys programed with the one he sent, and then get them cut to fit my original Ignition cylinder will they work with the re-flashed PCM? Old Keys + New Pcm? - ZX3_2NV - 06-28-2008 sorry vut ur orginal cylinder no that won't work Use his pcm and his ignition cylinder and live with having to keys one for the door locks and one for ignition its safer that way to Old Keys + New Pcm? - SL8RZZX3 - 06-28-2008 Is the cylinder coded? or is it just a tumbler? Old Keys + New Pcm? - Frost__2001 - 06-28-2008 well one option you could do is since you already have the Euro hood lock, get the complete euro lock set and do the complete switch.... I still have to do the flash part for the ignition to use that key... but everything else is euro. Old Keys + New Pcm? - hardk0re - 06-28-2008 like I told you swap over the pats chip in the key to your old keys and that should work. Only reason to swap cylinders is to swap over the pats code so the computer sees it. That is if these chips aren't glued in... IIRC that is the only reason but I could be wrong. Since I know one day you want a SCT tune, you could just have 2 keys fo now then put your old pcm in when you want a SCT tune and your back to your old keys and everything... I was thinking of getting some keys cheap off ebay, get the chip(s) coded to the new computer and the keys cut to match my original ignition cylinder Old Keys + New Pcm? - ZX3_2NV - 06-30-2008 Hardcore right on this subject |
