Trouble Starting Fixed - DRyanC - 12-09-2009 Hey everyone again, thanks for your last help, now I have another problem. 2000 Focus ZX3 auto My problem: The car starts great now, but now after driving for a bit and I put the car in N or P sometimes it stalls out, sometime it almost stalls, and sometimes it's fine. The idle only drops in P and N, D and R are fine, the idle kicks up when you put it in D or R. Where should I look first. I have no problems mechanically it's just my diagnosing skills are weak. thanks in advance. DRyanC Trouble Starting Fixed - konafocuswrc - 12-09-2009 idle should go up a bit in p or n, i didn't say porn.. Trouble Starting Fixed - DRyanC - 12-09-2009 Well I was at Crappy tire and pick up a set off plug to start. This is my 4th set. only have 120,000 on it DRyanC Trouble Starting Fixed - NikiterZTS - 12-09-2009 shouldn't plugs be good for at elast 50k? Trouble Starting Fixed - j3rt - 12-09-2009 plug wires instead? loose/bad ground? DPFE? Trouble Starting Fixed - reldridge - 12-09-2009 What plugs are you running? Trouble Starting Fixed - DRyanC - 12-09-2009 Well I started with the plug, I'll see if I get a call from the wife today. I had Bosch platinum in it. I know they were replace once when the car was under the 3/60,000, then I changed them maybe 3, maybe 4 years ago, but that's only 30-40,000km. I thought platinum plug are like 100,000, no? Another question, Focushacks has 49ft/# for the rear spindle nut for the drum, is this correct? (if anyone catches this) DRyanC Trouble Starting Fixed - reldridge - 12-10-2009 I know Foci don't like the Bosch Platinum stuff. If you're going to replace, use stock Motorcraft ones from Ford, unless you are boosted. 49 ft/lb for the nut that holds the drum onto the spindle? I thought it was way more than that (like over 180 ft/lbs). Trouble Starting Fixed - DRyanC - 12-10-2009 that's what I thought. I know I didn't loosen a nut that was tightened that much, it was pretty much 2 fingers on a bar to loosen. I did put them on tighter than they came off but not 180. A quick google search says 173 lb/ft. http://www.justanswer.com/questions/1rlxv-...ear-spindle-nut Trouble Starting Fixed - DRyanC - 12-10-2009 Well, one I know the dealer had off for service, the other hasn't been removed since assembled on the line.
