Exhaust Manifold Studs - SmokeBCBuDZ - 03-18-2007
When taking out the exhaust manifold bolts and studs, what looks like a plastic or silicone washer came out with one of the studs. I'm not sure what it does. I am little concerned. Would anybody have an idea what this is and does?

There is 2 of them , all they do is center the gasket during installation , it's freqently called a "dowel pin" .

I don't use them anymore...not even studs, I just use stainless bolts :)
