Lack Of Power And Hesitation?
#1
well where do i begin. THe initial take off is good until u hit 2nd then it lacks power greatly. i could have the pedal on the floor and it takes for ever to accelerate. also when just driving at regular speeds it shudders . Even the idle is bubbly and and doesn't really sound healthy. i think i'm gonna bring it in to ford tomorow. if anyone has had this problem could ya help me out?

thanks greg

Are you running a shorty header or anything? Your Cat could be bunged up. Also you may want to check your wires if one is perhaps faulty. Or even your plugs.

Also do you run a K&N filter? Have you over oiled it?

That would be where i'd check first.

Also remember its damn hot and humid out,

i had plugs and wires upgraded, i'm running a stock header, k&n filter.

Could it be the O2 sensors?

The Focus is notorious for bogging down in the heat.

Take the car out night and see if it does the same thing.

it does this every time the car gets warm. by second gear i have the peddle on the floor and it is barely accelerating. it does this at night and during the day.
it's an automatic. if that matters.

Had a similar experience when my catalytic converter was clogged, but with a stock exhaust manifold that likely won't happen so soon.
I bought a red car, because everyone knows red is the fastest.
