So is it just me or does the Focus really focus on having crappy fuel mileage :P
i get 400 to a full talk i got more on my 93 Escort! :P not that I bought the car for fuel mileage but my brothers got a mazda 3 with the same engine and his car can do 600 to a full tank and he has the same tank size to!

How and where do you drive? I used to gey about 420kms to a tank, but with the rising cost of fuel I am paying more attention now. Over the weekend doing mostly HWY i got just under 500km till the warning light came on. Mind you I was moving with the flow of traffic, which was around 120+. Now if I was staying around the limit I would like to assume that I could have got another 30-40km out of it plus the extra mileage you can get when you ignore the light for a while.

To get good mileage out of a Focus you have to drive it really nice, under 2500RPM, 2000 if you can. The owners manual even states, 88kph is the most effeicient. Anything more your fuel will drop. So I sit in the right with cruise set at 100kph.

My last tank I got 460km on 38 liters, all city driving. Lasted me 3 weeks. I have finally noticed that my mileage is getting better. The car will be a year old come end of August, have just over 9000km so far.

Canadiandriver.com got 742 out of 50liters on a new Focus, driving 110 kmh. I've never tried a full tank drive yet.

I wish 5 gear was taller. At 100 kph I'm at 2750RPM, I should be 2000RPM. The problem is the masses don't like to down shift, I can be in 5th at 40kph and have no problem speeding up. Which is stupid because thats why people buy sticks????

I have a 05 Duratec with 88,000km on it. I ussually got about 100km per quarter so 400km per full tank.(City driving) I just got a tune and a set of headers, delete secound O2 Sensor, increased the degree of spark temp and running 8% richer now with city driving I get about 600km+ and thats not easy driving.
