I've been using ramps for yrs for all kinds of projects, never once have I seen or heard of ramps failing and crushing someone, and really how is your car going to roll off of a ramp, all the one's seen and used have had a ridge that you need to drive over to get the car fully up on them. If you're that concerned, after you've put the car in gear, applied your parking brake, toss a 2X4 or something similar behind the rear wheels.

On the flip side of the coin, I've seen a car that was up on jackstands get bumped by my buddies kid and fall down, we had just rolled out from underneath it about a minute before, and yes we had the stands positioned properly.
No name, Cheap and Slutty.

I always put my stands underneath even when I am using the ramps - just a sort of fail safe....

How much did they charge you to change it?

Sorry, I missed this. I'll send myself a reminder to check that receipt when I get home tonight. I had it done at the same time I had my cracked coil replaced, but I'm sure they itemize the labour for each item replaced.

Either that or brake systems going and having the car roll right on top of them, generally relying on brakes to keep your car away from you and on the ramps is not the best idea

Trust my life to 24.99 ramps and a ford ebrake cable ? I think not.

I tend to run 5-ton ramps, chock the downside wheels and throw the e-brake.

With that said, I've never put the Focus up because it doesn't clear my ramps :(
