Making One Concession To Gas Prices......
#1
I'll be road tripping in the Focus rather than the WRX as I head off to Virginia Beach on Saturday with the boy for week. I will be including the "Skyline Drive" on the way down if you want to Google that.

The Focus will be much better on gas, result in fewer tickets and the boy doesn't care one way or the other which car it is. I'll save the WRX for my next road trip in the fall with my latest "best girl". Not sure where we'll end up? Cali?

Kids are lucky these days as I got the boy (8) a portable DVD with this trip in mind. My brother and I had to settle for magnetic checkers and "bunch buggy" back when we were kids. Yes, they had cars then

I'll be in Cali in last two weeks of Aug. i'll be doing the Highway 1 drive.

Funny how you mention the punch buggy bc i was listening to radio and they mentioned the same thing about kids being lucky these days. In the freestyle i can listen to my music while the back seat drivers can watch thier movie.

have fun on the trip and take lots of pictures.

Yup starting Grade 3 next month. Here's something else interesting, I bought the Focus for his mom after he was born since she couldn't drive my old Subaru as it was standard.

My Focus is 8 years old as of August 25th. Does that make me the longest owner of the SAME Focus on here?????

I bought mine in late August of 2000 as well. I just broke 114000km daily driven.

There might be a few older original owners (Flo?)

What about Rich (GapBoy)?

Congrats on the trip opportunity and the long-serivce award, Andrew :D

Had my SPI proven as hardy as I expected it to, it never would have been traded in. I would have just kept bitching about the lack of power and raving about the mileage and handling ad nauseam.

We're "down" to 1.25/L here for gas today, finally. If I throw 50L of 87 in it (almost a "full fill) I save 4-5 bucks over the current high average here (1.33 - 1.35/L).

*Goes and checks out the pics*

I filled up(ish) again the other day... 31L of gas, 300KMs, mostly in-town driving.

I don't really know WTF is going on, all I know is that I am slaying the rated fuel economy for in-town driving in a 2008 4WD V6 Escape. And that's before the tune (hopefully this fall).
