Help Creating A New Sub Box
#1
hey guys...sorry for not kicking around here lately, been busy straightning things out in my life...but i'm not back on track now that all the snow here is gone :)..umm..i need some help tho, i vibrated the s*** outa my last box with my Type X...and am now in search of a new wild style of box 2 show it off..i'm getting it custom build by a friend of mine who worked in car audio for over 6 years, now all i need is some ideas on how i want this 2 look..which is where you guys come in :)...I wanna be wild and out there, and i want it 2 be ported, and maybe somehow incorporate my amp and capacitor into the desine...So, if some of you guys or all of you guys can help me out, it would be greatly appreciated, thanks guys, if you wanna get ahold of me in other ways, my MSN is in my profile, hit me up on there if you want

do you want to keep trunk space?
or r u thinking of filling the whole trunk with the box?

if u go crazy, u might as well fill ur trunk up!

maybe if u had a few amps and the cap and some extra speakers
u could do some really crazy things

why not

have the sub a little off centred to one side, and the amp a little off centred on the other
and the cap in the middle in the back
na mean?

Ditch your spare, do a false floor in the trunk with the sub flush-mounted. Amp and cap can be under plexi, lit with neons.

this is the best idea so far. why put crap in just to put crap in?

what purpose do speakers in your trunk accomplish? how often do you open your trunk so other people can watch video on some tiny 7" screens?

keep things looking clean. if you don't have the depth to do a false floor, try a newer enclosure style, like a 4th order bp with a plexi front or an aperiodic bichamber.

screens in the trunk have to be big

12 inch or bigger, if it is 7 inch
it better be in addition to a 12 or bigger!

even if the depth isn't deep enough, u could fibreglass a raised area to accomadate the required depth, that would look pretty sick!
raised and rounded, do u know what i mean?

Keep in mind that even after you ditch the spare, the floor of the hatch is still 4-5 inches below the actual hatch opening. In order to have your amps flush mounted, as well as room for the sub, you would build up a false floor to be almost flush with the hatch. And you still retain some sort of usability.
