A Last Goodbye And A First Look At The New Ride
#21
Well, initially I would pick Oscar as he's got a fair amount done to the car and he can ply my vote with food and beer. I don't drink, so I'm a cheap drunk and that makes for a cost-effective election.

Others have a decent amount done to their cars too, like Smith21, NefCanuck and Frost 2001... so I guess I'll start a thread for that and reach a fair *cough*bribes accepted*cough* conclusion after some careful evaluations :P

And now, some pics of the new car. Don't mind the darkness, I forgot to raise the ISO after taking the lunch-hour shots today. I'll take better shots this weekend.

I was talking to a few of the sales guys today while they finished the paperwork - they did remember you!

I almost forgot... we stopped in tonight with the void cheque for the auto-withdrawal... the car was sold and gone already. Not moved... SOLD. A buddy of one of the service advisors who knew the car well. No wonder I got even more for it at the last minute when I asked for it.

That's less than 5 hours from the time it hit the lot and we left with the ZX5.

That's hawt!

The car is not bad either... (somebody was going to say it haha)

You should've spent the extra 10 bucks and got a new plate. That old plate looks tattered against the newness of the fresh car.

Wow, I'd forgotten how bright "Infra Red" actually was until I saw the shots of your new wheels  You could probably take a shot in the dead of night using a match as a light source and still get a good photo of the car :P

Hope you enjoy it, but better get the snows on fast 'cause at least here in S. Ontario Old Man Winter is kicking in the door, with steel toed boots

Are they THAT bad? I really wasn't looking to shell out for snows and steelies yet. Plus, it might be a good testament to T/C.

NOS, I posted my experiences with the 16" P6's last winter during the only two serious snows we had. That's why I junked the P6's with 5/32's left and went with the Nokians, I wasn't about to risk my @$$ again this winter  (Besides T/C only helps you if you can get traction in the first place)

I thought that was you that posted that.

Hmm. I dunno. I guess I'll give them a snowfall to see how we do. There may be an emergency snowtire set purchase.

I got rid of my P6's, replaced them with the Goodyear Assurance TripleTreds... much better grip but a little more understeer with the slightly softer sidewall... The Pirelli's were crap in snow, if you come to one of the upcoming meets, you'll see one of my rims are 'scratched' up nicely, that was a fun experience.

with the weather conditions in north bay, I figure you'd survive the winter with the stock tires... The car might feel a bit squirrely if there's a layer of loose snow/ice on the highway, but on the packed snow you guys have day to day.. it's not too big an issue.

The tires really have a hard time with the slushy snow we get in southern ontario, but you definitely wouldn't be the only focus driver out there driving with the OEM all seasons in the winter (if my mom can do it, so can you).

But don't get me wrong.. I highly recommend snow tires. but, not everyone can afford them.

not to cause trouble, but for s***s and giggles, NOS should take a pic on his hood like the one that you had that so captivated Meford

I think the irony alone would be worth the trouble it stirs up...

She was standing upright next to her car. Idiots.

And she is just a breathtaking woman that I appreciate viewing.

That is all.
