That's a truly well-written piece. I'm going to be printing it out to keep at home and linking a copy to my Facebook page / website / blog.
I've always said that this law is BS. I saw a cop racing to a call yesterday, and because he was all over the gas he literally drifted the corner, tail right out and just about full reverse lock on that Crown Vic. Was there another cop there to bust him for "stunting"? He didn't back off the throttle (windows were down, enjoying the 5 degree weather), he just counter-steered and took the corner, kept going. That's a recognition of his skill to be sure, but the bottom line is that if someone did that (inadvertently or otherwise) in front of a cop, they'd be busted for "stunting" and there would be a STACK of fines/charges.
Let's use our heads here, people, and get this law repealed / massively altered.
