well i know this is a little late into this topic, but on the matter of comparison of drag racing and auto x. i have never personally autoxed yet but i do plan on it. i have drag raced tho and most might kno by my numerous threads about it. its not just shifting gears pedal to the medal. its a lot more then that, that is aslong as u have a modified car and are really trying to make improvements and get the best times u can. there are shifting techniques you get down, just as in auto-x, you have to find the sweet spot for launch which is hard as every run it seems to be different. you also have to know the track, if there are any dips, if it has been prepped properly etc. i have to agree that there is a lot of skill involved to be a really good driver in auto x, but once you have learned the basics of how to drive your car and techniques such as heel toe and how to drive on the track, surely it would then make it the same, only difference being turns, brake and downshifting. both require a good suspension set up, just set for different uses, one for tight cornering and one for the hole shot. just all depends on the way you look at it i guess. you cants jsut have a fast car to get a fast time
