the OEM filter is always a good bet

personally with filters i don't see any reason to go aftermarket

ford also has its own oil so i would use that too

naz posted a good review of a bunch of oil filters and ram was at the bottom of the barel.. FRAM did make a performance filter that did much better than the regular one IIRC.

I tried finding it, but couldnt find his post....

i'm glad i can contrib more to the site than just rag on ford build quality

i can't find my orig post either... these 'could' be the same links i used in my orig post

here's a comparison article

http://www.calsci.com/motorcycleinfo/FilterStudy.html

C grade is average.. fram is the only one that got an F (ie way below average) construction

here's another article

http://minimopar.knizefamily.net/oilfilt...rence.html

fram filtration area is pretty low, testers commented on the crappy construction quality

the general consensus seems to be that fram filters are built on the cheap

P51 weighted in on an oil filter discussed a while back.. i believe he also said that OE was the way to go

oh man.. i need to dig up that article where some dude did random testing of pump gas at different stations to test the octane ratings and level or particulates in the fuel EDIT: and found shell as was more likely to have more octane than advertised and had less gunk in the fuel

and another article when someone took a bone stock evo and switched from gas from chevron to shell and made like 10whp just because his car deto'ed less so the ECU advanced the timing

just like oil and filters everyone has their own opinion... personally i purchase fuel from shell (unless its 100, in which case i am forced go to 76)

i agree shell gas is the sh*t. my car runs like crap on any other gas. i get better gas milage on shel gas also
