mo that's awesome.. if 2001 ZTS replies to this thread i think he might have you beat though.. i believe he used a fully depreciated '91 subaru loyale for work driving a while back and made bucket loads of money from it
re the filling up 3 times in day.. i have done that as well on multiple times... i use about 28 gallons of fuel each track day... 14 gallons driving to and from the event and around 14 gallons during the event itself (edit: 24mpg driving normally, 7.5mpg driving 'hard')

yeah but I'm not suprised by how much it is to run a car these days, given the option I'd opt not to have one in a perfect world, but sadly brampton is keen on spralling everything out, not to mention the current gas prices.
also for those that don't know my coworker did the conversion today on the price of gas, in the GTA, we're paying $5.13 a Gallon, vers the US $3.15 a gallon.

In two years of owning my 2000 ZTS, not including modifications, which are a minimum, the biggest expenses have been one alternator, one Throttle Body (auto), one right side axle, and a new battery. About $1,000.00 CDN. Not bad for an eight year old car. Cars are a money pit, but like women, we still love 'em!

Here's my ST's expenses:
For 12 months:
- Payments = $4,700
- Gas = $2,400
- Insurance = $700
- parking = $0
- Maintenance = $200
- 4 Winter tires = $300
Approximate total = $8,300
Not bad... I've had car payments more than this in the past (99 Cobra)

So far, the Focus has cost me more than the RX-8 has... but I had the Focus for a year before I bought the RX-8.
That, and the slight issue of the fact I haven't started modding the RX-8 yet. :o

if my focus sucked enough fuel to fill up 3 times in one day i'd have an other car.

He does have another car -- a jeep :P.
to be fair, I've filled up 4-5 times in a day.. but then again, that's 20 hours of driving....

The Jeep isn't that much better i get just over 500 km filling up a 70L tank and the days i would be filling up would be Drive to the track Run all day long drive back cruise around and then go out late into the nigth for some more crusing.

This thread made me curious. While I don't have all my receipts I made some best guesses based on some of my averages.
So.. my cars cost, in total, including it's purchase, and my insurance...
$35,328... over 32,000 km ... and 2.5 years ...
Now, my insurance was sky high, it's not now (god I hate you Toronto, Waterloo FTMW), so if you took my current rate and applied it back then, that would bring it down to $27,328.
I need to spend another ~$1800 coming up to fix one thing, new tyres, and licensing.
(Disclaimer: I may have actually missed costs, as I don't have it all in an easily findable location it would seem, I know they're somewhere)
