I used to play Simcity, then Simcity 2000.. never played the third one.
Then i got the urge to play again, and picked up the SC4 Box (comes with simcity 4 deluxe, and simcity socieities).
The game sure has changed, but the addiction level is still up there. Plus I found a boatload of websites to get new buildings, and the way traffic works, and other things.
Needless to say, after only 2-3 failed cities, I now have one going that is making money. Not much, but its getting there.
Anyone else play this timesink?

I was gonna pick this up not to long ago, but the reviews I read on it weren't very good.
Maybe it's worth a look, I always loved the simcity games.

It rocks, as far as city building goes.. no blood and guts :)
I haven't tried out Simcity Societies though, heard that it sucked butt.
I think the box cost $40 at Best Buy. simcity deluxe = simcity 4 + rush hour.
There are also a TON of sites out there to download new content
http://www.simtropolis.com
http://www.sc4devotion.com
http://www.simpeg.com
I usually hang out around those ones looking for new buildings and stuff.
Just be aware that the mechanics are different than say, 2000. Requires a bit more managing of your budget, but once you get it dialed in, you don't need to bother with it much.

Its a really great game to play but it takes a hole lot of time outta your day. When the cities are dieing it is helpfully to have a trainer or 2 running in the backgrounf :P .

yeah i play sim4 all the time, i find the best site for downloads is the simcity4.com website, I got a few interesting buildings, and some memorable ones like the WTC towers, and plaza, not to mention all of the Toronto downtown buildings.
