06-4-10 SURGE AT STEADY STATE CRUISE 25-75 MPH (40-121 KM/H)

ISSUE:
Some 2004 Focus SVT vehicles may exhibit a sensation of the engine surging with no change in vehicle speed during steady state cruise between 25 and 75 MPH (40-121 Km/h) with no diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) present in the powertrain control module (PCM).

ACTION:
Reprogram the powertrain control module (PCM) to the latest calibration using WDS release B41.8 and higher or B42.1 and higher. This new calibration is not included in the B42 CD. Calibration files may also be obtained at http://www.motorcraft.com.
