does anybody know what the red line is for a 2000 zx3? there is no marker or anything.

mine around 7500-8000rpm it was tapping. I think that you can't go more than that.

^^ not unless you have a chip.

I think its 6900 before cut off on stock cars...or 6995.....cant rememeber.

I know with my chip, I have it up to 7200RPM.

It's 5900 on the SPI, 6400 is the safe limit before you run into stock valvetrain issues.

apparently with a chip people have the svt revving up to 7800

with my zx3 i was afraid to take it above 6500... just didnt feel right.

it doesnt feel right anywhere past 6000 rpm, ive pushed it further, but i dont think when i hit the next gear that its at the right spot in the power band.
the zetec is a no-interference motor, so unless you snap the timing belt(not likely) or have some other sort of issue, you're not gonna smack any valves. but the best thing to get is a chip and then the timing and fuel maps will be ideal for revving that high.
