A pretty damning review by Mr. Clarkson below. Only really posting because he mentions the Focus a few times:

Yep, in 1 of my evo mags they test drove the bmw 1series, ford focus, and some peugot htachback ( I think)....all deisel models.

They said the same thing, the focus won the comp hands down.
