Mouldy Firewall Padding?

Any ideas on what to do with this crap? It sickens me everytime i look at it. I'm sure other owners are in the same boat.

clean it best you can and then spraypaint it black,,,,it happens to us all

Yeah, had the same thing happen with my own car. I repainted it with flat black high heat spraypaint. I'm gonna do the same thing again, but this time, I'm gonna spray a bottle of Krown rust protectant in behind it so that the moisture doesn't rot the firewall sheetmetal any worse than it might have already.
Bleeding Ford Blue again...

Is it possible to remove it without removing any of the other components?

there is/was something about a tsb for a leak.. passanger side footwell is one area

i found the tsb
