Where Does This Sensor Go?
#1
Hi guys,

I just put in my new 2000 Ported intake Manifold and I got everything set to go except this one sensor. Does anyone have any clue where it goes? I've looked for 2 hrs and I cant find nuthin. My CEL light is on too so I hope it goes away after I find out where it goes.

Anybody? It runs right down between the intake tubes and splits off into two sensors, one being the Knock sensor I believe (its plugged into the block) and the other that I havnt been able to locate.

Over by the cam gears, at the back by the alternator would be my guess.

if i was to guess....
it's the fuel rail pressure, Cylinder head temp or the knock sensor harness.
all should be around that side of the head. the CHT sensor is a little brass fitting in the head with a 4" long wire and plug hanging off it.

but it looks like the fuel rail pressure harness, should be located on the cam gear side if the rail under the rail facing the back of the car.

The boy said because that is only one wire, it could be one of three things. Temperature, which he doubts, knock sensor that is located at the back of the engine, or check the alternator as it has a plug similar to that. Check near the bottom of the alternator. He said that the CEL might not disappear once you find the connection and you may have to have the code cleared.

Oh, and what happened to boost?

Meford,

Boost is on its way my friend, I look at that friendly turbocharger everyday but I'm still saving money for some gizmos I'd like to put on before boost. I figure when I hit boost i'm hitting it big. Oh, I found where it was disconnected thanks alot for all the help guys! When my ride is finally something special to look at (under the hood) I'll bring it around so you all can take a glance or two. Thanks again!

Matt :)

is your car auto or manual?

it looks like a 2 prong plug to me, that could be tps, or injector, or other sensors, its a very popular plug
