Stalling Out...dpfe?
#1
Ok, so I'm driving along and press the gas to accelerate so I can change lanes. Suddenly the car jerks and starts decelerating instead. WTF?!?!?!? I pull over and the car sputters and stalls. It didn't want to fire up for like 10 minutes then suddenly...aces! again WTF?!?!?!? I'm thinking dpfe but am not sure... any suggestions? cheap places to fix?

Don't panic.

It's the same problems a lot of us have had. Get the car the throw it's CEL and take it in.

Well... i don't know how to throw the CEL but I found out that the recall on the fuel pump hasn't been done so... freebie! WHEW!!!! The more I think about it and people I ask lean me towards the fuel pump anyways so here's hoping.

if you havent had your fuel pump done, than thats your best bet...get that first and see if it still does it.. fixed most issues on mine after i got it done.. of course theres always more issues with the focus but you can just wait for those future ones :P

I was going to post this in that other thread here about engine hesitation/stumbling/fuel pumps .. but saw this first -- I'll do a proper post there -- but turns out my similar problem was not the fuel pump but the coil pack & wires. This on a car with 45,000km...

Ok.. gonna post in the other thread now..

Have the recall done.... Chances are it will fix it.
