Needing Some Advice
#1
I know it's been awhile, I've been very busy at work and dealing with changes with my wife's health, so I haven't really had any time to poke around here, but i need a little advice, I have been offered to purchase a 2004 ZX5, 5 speed on the original clutch with 280,000 kms. The young lady would like me to donate $1,000.00 to her to take this car off of her hands. It needs struts all round, the sunroof doesn't open and the oglights don't work. She did take good care of it, as it was her car for work, and she drove around for her job. Any thoughts?

I think I still have stock zx5 shocks (with low mileage on 'em), struts and springs at home IIRC.. they're yours for a pint..

1000 isn't bad for a drivable car. Average 04's seem to be 4000-6000 for models with ~140-170k.

really?

that seems a bit much, imo. My 03 came out to 6200 out the door, with 103k on the clock.

OP, is it safetied and etested? If not, 300$.

I'd phone your insurance company and ask them what it's worth ... what they will give you for it in a total loss situation is a lot more important to you than any other estimate ... start with that and then start deducting the cost of known repairs. My quess is that you will end up with it being worth just a couple of hundred bucks if anything.
