The weakness in RFID is well known unfortunately...

but you can protect yourself if you have such tech in your passport by getting an RFID-blocking wallet or passport holder..

like the ones you see here

I've heard rhumors that the government is going to start handing out rfid blocker jackets as well... but don't take my word for it.
