CV Joints and Axle Extension on Passenger side for 2002 Automatic Transmission
#1
Well here I am after completely removing a junk engine from a 2002 Focus and replacing it with a used engine.
After doing all that, you'd think I could reinstall the passenger side axle and axle extension into the transmission. Well, so far I can't.
Oh the axle is easy to insert into the wheel area but the extention will not go all the way into the transmission, no matter how much I wiggle it around. Go figure.
Any one got any suggestions?

.
It takes more than talk to get things done.

Rubber mallet on the carrier bearing and tap into place. Don't beat on it though. I usually put shaft into tranny first also

I actually had this problem as my slid out on me and I tried to put it back in. Do what Jamie said and use a soft rubber mallet and it did the trick for me but don't be rough on the seals, splines or threads.
