that's a good thought actually -- to grow the site.

Unfortunately focuscanada.ca is taken along with a lot of other domain names. I'm keeping an eye out for something better tho.

As for growing the site, it's something that's definitely in the plans.

there's free BBS software that works very much like the current software, and migrating to it on a different hosting provider would give us more bandwidth and disk space to play with (we currently get less than half a gig -- which is ridiculous for this day and age).

The new software has a tool to port from other BBS's to it, but they don't yet have an adapter to support our current software.

So, I can have a new BBS set up tomorrow and we lose a lot of info, or we wait a bit longer.

However, I've been playing around with other software as well to extend the functionality of the site -- which I think I can throw in pretty soon to give us more info and things to do/see.

The problem with a name like fc-web.ca though is that it really doesn't tell people what the site is about and I think that is critical to grow the site past the "hardcore" crowd.

I'd have to see a list of possibilities to know what would work best at grabbing eyeballs.

FordFans.ca would be good for example, but it's probably already taken.

I think that fordtuner.ca is a good alternative, though it may skew things twoards a younger demographic than fordfans.ca would.

If a name change is in order though I would think this would require a fair bit of work to pull off as this site changes its, er, "focus"

I don't think this site is going to go anywhere... It's still a great gathering place for focus enthusiasts,

but in all honesty, I would like to give this place back to focus enthusiasts -- a lot of us have moved on from the focus, and it dilutes the message this site should be delivering.

So if we can build a larger playground for the larger ford and/or sport compact community and make this site more focused, then everybody would win.

Forgive me for sounding like a dinosaur, but, I don't see a need for a name change or upgrade. Growing, and adding new features to the site would be welcome, but a name change, in my humble opinion, isn't necessary.

lol. i finally found this thread at post 19...

i think that a name change is a great idea but you need to choose a name wisely. first and formost, you want something that has a ring to it. secondly you want a name that represents our community. ill think of some names to add on to here as soon as i can think of them and see whats available domain wise. but how does fordnation.ca sound? lol
