Seafoam
#1
I tried Seafoam, an "engine cleaner" to see if it would help clear up a small problem I had. The engine at idle would be erratic, going up and down, and sometimes stay too high. Cleaned the MAF sensor first, that helped a little. Tried Seafoam, pored some, 2-3 ounces, into a vacuum line. Let it sit for ten minutes, started up the car, and for a minute, I thought I had blown something up. The exhaust was very white and lots of smoke for a few minutes. Apparently, this means the stuff is working. Since then, the idle is steady, at the proper speed, and I've noticed a better all round driveability to the car. I'm recommending this product to help keep our engines running smoothly.

you dont want to touch anyting in the MAF, just spray it down good and let it dry. It shouldnt be THAt dirty anyways...I know mine isn't and it sits 1 foot off the ground with a dirty K&N letting all sorts of crap in.

I read a number of funny stories on the Saab site about this stuff. Guys using that stuff for the cars first time after 10 yrs and they end up fogging the neighborhood. Some once said to never use it near your house, go to a mall or the country.
