Help
#1
Yesterday, Driving Home, With the System Pounding I started to Bog out and the Volts dropped out...

I pulled the car over, Lifted the Hood and BAM The 4G Alt wire is on fire...

So i blew the Fire out(Should have just walked away I know)
And looked at the damage.

The Wire was resting Here, And shorted out, At the same time Burned a Hole through the Pipe.

I fixed the Pipe, Ran a New 6gauge Wire from the Alt to the Batt, And started the Car.

Now the Car idles Like a Bag of s***.

Volts are outa wacked a bit, But the Idle drops to 700-500rpm...
No codes yet(SCT might be blocking them)

Need Help.
Blown Alt?
Screwed Computer?

Battery holds a charge.

Tape? You might want to get some JB Weld or something on that..... not tape......

I just had that problem too....you have to change that wire which is a pain in the ass to do because it runs in with your harness

Its Not Just Tape, Its aluminum.

REDZX3

So you think its the New Wire i put in?
Its a heavey Duty wire, But at the same time its only a 12 count copper, To make a 6 gauge size.

I would replace the wire again with the same count as the factory wire... anything thicker would cause more of a current and problems. Once I replaced mine everything has been fine.
