Etest Coming Up...
#1
With hardkores post about not being able to pass with the cat after the flex, I was wondering who here has passed the etest with the cat in that position?

Also another Q...

My EGR is disabled in the ECU, as is the 2nd O2 sensor. Will this affect me in anyway? Readings wise? I know that when they hook up the obd2, The EGR will(should) come up as 'NA'.

Well I think you should get EGR enabled just so your NO count doesn't hit the roof. That COULD have been my problem before, maybe the egr valve I was using did not work correctly due to it only connected to one cyl due to focussport header. This maybe could have been an issue.

Thats what im trying to figure out here...because if its 'Off' in the ECU, shouldnt it now work at all, meaning a 0 reading...Im probably wrong here.

And thats my probelm, because its a chip, i cant just turn it on/off without going to see my guy for re-tuning. Ugh

you will definitely need the EGR to reduce your NO emissions, but I passed with my 2nd O2 disabled... it just comes up NA on the test sheet.

also, with your cat in that position, if they test the car while it's hot, you should be alright as long is it's running stoichiometric at idle and part throttle. however, if it's from a cold start, the cat won't light off quickly enough which will probably hurt your emissions.

if your MAF transfer function is dead on, you could even try leaning out the idle and cruise commanded a/f a little to bump up your EGTs a tad more.

I guess I'll find out eventually...I'm being told different things here. Tuner, and others are saying I wont have a problem, but you guys seem to think differently.

Find out Saturday. *Crosses fingers*

Rockland Ford won't touch it, say its to low. Thats bs, 1, they've done an etest on my car there before, and 2) focusonthis_88, which is probably close to an inch lower than me, and his body kit is much more 'extravagent' :P than my lip kit, had his done there. Told him they can put some blocks down, and it will go right up on the rollers, thats the only way I can see how they would of gotten focusthis_88s car up there. Wouldnt do it. Says they dont have time to do it. They asked me to come back Monday, and they would get the mechanic that did erics car. Thats even if hes there so I now have an appoitment booked for Monday at CT, I asked the mechanic to come out and check to see if they could do it before hand this time.

"Probably not, we'll just do a 2 speed idle test"

Nice. Hope everything goes well.

I was told by the place that failed my old Escort twice not to run fuel injector cleaner in the tank while I'm there. Run the tank out, refill, then take back. It apparently causes it to lean out too much.

Not sure why your CO would be though.
