Ivan is at 15.1 untuned
when did he run again? not bad, altho it is a type R swap lol he shud be running high 14's in that. and im pretty sure its got some tuning doesnt it? cuz i believe it has launch control
when i was talking to him he said it needs tuning...don't knowthe detailes too much
ah ic. its funny because ivan was one of the haters to what derek had posted and wants to line up against me lol and also made it seem like when he had his b16a that it wa slow etc. and it cud take me, like wud have been close as we have the almost exact same trap speed as he has posted
15.3 is a great time for what you have done maybe you do have a N/A Freak do u know what kind of hp#'s ur putting down, 14's might be possible is ur car auto or standard if ur interesed in running slicks i'll see what i can do 4 u

Cam, TB and Intake upgrade will help balance that out.

Not to be an ass, but what do you do after he does those mods?

Face it, zetec/duratec is going to need internals to keep up. Thats where the $$ starts. ;) B)

Sorry dood, 15.3 and fast focus shouldnt be said in the same sentence :P

if you ran a 2.3 60 foot and a 15.3

that means if you were to get a very possible 2.0 60 foot than your car would be runnit with your  a 14.7

very very interesting

If we look at power to weight. Cobalt Manual with 260hp / 2975lb and a Focus ZX5 SES Stage 1 Turbo pushing 205hp / 2610lb. I'm only short by 23.4hp to match power to weight ratio.

I think I'll be fine with the CAM/TB/Intake manifold upgrade.

Or if not, grab an intercooler and go stage 2 Turbo.
your missing the point though....mod for mod, dollar for dollar, the cobalt will be faster, its already ahead out of the box. Thats like saying you can slap those mods on and beat an SRt4. All these guys have to do is change turbos/intercoolers and tune, and theyre sitting clsoe to 400horsies. Sorry, you cant do that in a focus unless that block is going to be forged.
im definately thinking of going slicks, im currently looking around for 2 stock wheels i can use for a decent price, if anyone knows of any let me know. i can get some 15's for about 100 bucks a pop and they weigh around 15 pounds, some no name wheels but they wud do the trick. preferably drag radials to keep it street legal for bracket racing or even just some rele rele sticky tires for a decent price. odds are they will be to much for this year as im looking into getting a winter car. high 14's with less than expected makes me happy for sure. i will be eventually running likely a 50 shot wet kit in the future, but thats a while off yet. shud give it a good kick tho for having some fun at the track
you can run slicks in bracket, I say go with a set of 15" m/t 22.5 will fit the wheel well just perfect check out http://www.garage16.ca hes a dealer for m/t
sounds good. im thinking next year ill be on some slicks. i wanna get my car on a dyno and see what its making power wise. i think its safe to say roughly 130whp but we'll see when that day comes. i thought u had to be street legal for bracket? i guess i need to read the rules again lol
bracket is anything goes wheel bars fiberglass body doesn't matter
also, i think when u read super street u thought bully all motor, super street is 14.99 and faster, bully all motor is 12.9 and faster. so basically between 13-14.99 wud be the super street class i assume. sweet, i guess i can still remove head light to make way for air filter poking out lol along with potential slicks. i wish i cud find a used set that still have some average life left in them since season is almost over
yes but ur not understanding thats just to quilify into that class everyone runs low 12's you'll be kicked out 1st round every time other than a red light or driver error. If your interested I can let my rims and slicks go for $500
im actually in the process of getting some extra 15's as we speak, ill let you know tho. im waiting for the guy to shoot me a price for the 2 wheels. how much track life wud u say is left on yours??
atleast 50% maybe longer for you since your all motor
you know what, maybe ill take those off your hands, ive gotta look into some stuff first but ill let you know. the guy wants 80 bucks per stock wheel of a rele early series focus 15's, i like the sound of wheel and tire combo for a good price.
Well let me know there ready to race one is painted black and one is the stock silver. I did this so i wouldn't mess up the rotation of the slick you can paint the other one black as long as you mark it driver or passenger side. I can bring them to the last CSCS event for easy delivery
