p.s. be careful if driving at dusk..

I know in northern ontario (which you go through if you're driving through canada), the blackflies tend to drive moose and deer into the roads at dusk. It'll be particularily bad this time of year (from mid May - Mid June)....

so keep your eyes open, and always aim for the backlegs.

I've yet to see a deer or moose run backwards.

p.s. wax your car before you go... anything to make washing the bugs off easier... your car will be absolutely plastered this year considering the rain we've had.

Buy a grille screen.

Toss it when you get home.

So much for Focus Canada's worst kept secret.

We are leaving Saturday afternoon and taking the WRX and have given ourselves two weeks. We're travelling light and fast.

Plan is to blast across the country to Calgary then Banff-Jasper, Waterton, Radium, Rogers Pass, Crowsnest Pass, Yellowhead Pass, Edmonton and everything and anything in between. We'll propably return via the US just for a change of scenery.

It's going to be a REALLY good trip, perfect time of year (school still in/off season), weather should be good, fabulous car and of course I couldn't have a more wonderful travel partner. ;)

i never tought that was a secret, but anyways sounds like a fun trip. I have driven that route couple of times, and the only places i liked were north of ontario and near banff.

Try driving thru the lakes (north ontario) early morning the fog on top of the small lakes is amazing.

Thanks everyone for the nice comments and travelling tips! We appreciate it.

Kevin! We will try our VERY best to come to the next one. The past few weeks have a been a little busy for us due to both of our jobs and getting everything ready for our trip.

Frost! If we have time, we will try to get to the movie theatre :)

Steve! You make a very good point...

The blackflies are stupid-bad this year... bring lots of washer fluid.
