I'll check with the wife... but yeah, gas costs for a weekend trip to Toronto and area are getting STUPID.

Are the roads twisty and enjoyable at least? If I'm shovelling 20-dollar bills into the gas tank, I want to enjoy myself while I'm doing it. :P

Put us down as tentative. My October training date got put back to April, so I don't mind roadtripping then.

Haha... try 60 and 60 by then... or maybe 80 and 80... its 400 km roughly to windsor...

so average that out to 40l each way
If gas is 1.40 by then.... (if were lucky)
Youre looking at 56.00 to fill the tank

and for us suckers with premium

Svt fillup = 43L premium @ 1.53 = 66.00

Yum!...

<- token Yank so far! :D

I'll see if I can round up the other local guys to come up as well, unless they've been here lurking (MyBlackST and Cooter that I know of) and are afraid of joining you great white northians alone.

I'm kinda looking forward to this even now..... I really hope I have the day off that day.

Niagara-on-the-lake Cruise 2005 (all Info Inside) - meford4u - 09-02-2005

See, that's why the poker run works for all. The cheap fuktards get to ride for free and participate, the other race fuktards get to boogie around the Falls. And for those who asked, there are some great roads around the Falls and outlying areas.
But I haven't heard from puppet or Anthony if they want to run with this idea or not. i am ok with being shot down if they don't like it. But I think it would be a blast.

poker run would be fun... but how to organize it?

are you coming to wing night? or can we get together to chat about this? it's a great idea, just have to see what's involved with organizing it...

Niagara-on-the-lake Cruise 2005 (all Info Inside) - meford4u - 09-03-2005

It wouldn't be that hard to organize. I already have a trailor park stop at the in-laws in mind. Just go find them and the park and you get a card. They would love this kinda s**t.
You get people and business' involved that wouldn't mind being the centre of attention for a few minutes and they love to help out the tourists.
Just have to ask around. We only need about 5 places to travel to.
We have a couple of members in the Niagara region that could help out with locations to hand out the cards. Who wants to go on a scouting mission to the downer?
No racing though. It's not about time.

I am coming to wing night.

Niagara-on-the-lake Cruise 2005 (all Info Inside) - NOS2Go4Me - 09-07-2005

Poker run? Interesting. Haven't been to one in ages.

I'll help organize if need be.

I still need to check with the wife

Niagara-on-the-lake Cruise 2005 (all Info Inside) - NOS2Go4Me - 09-10-2005

I'm screwed with October on the whole... I'm on standby for a trip to Nevada again in October... last minute thing whenever they're ready to rock.

Sorry dude. :(

Perhaps we should start a seperate thread with people willing to bring things. or maybe assign certain things to people.

Just a thought....

bring things? like what?

Niagara-on-the-lake Cruise 2005 (all Info Inside) - meford4u - 09-13-2005

Hey Kev. I need a hand setting up the locations for the poker run. Can you help a brother out and figure out places we can approach to hand out the cards in the N. Falls area?
I wouldn't mind coming down sometime this week and figuring it all out if your off work and not going to school.
Maybe we could even play golf with time pending?

Niagara-on-the-lake Cruise 2005 (all Info Inside) - crazikev - 09-13-2005

how exactely does this pokerrun thing work? You just pick a couple places to hand out some cards(do you hand them out the same day or earlier in the week?), or can you go hide some in some park or something and mark it on the map(if there is a map?). How much of the Niagara Penninsula is this going to cover?

All these questions are going to be answer, and more, on the next episode of poker run:Niagara Edition

What day you planning on comming down

Niagara-on-the-lake Cruise 2005 (all Info Inside) - meford4u - 09-14-2005

I am thinking that the only day i can come is Thursday afternoon. You give the cards to local business' the day of the event to hand out. You give each participant a map and let them find their way to each location and get a card. Best hand wins.
There is no skill to it, just getting out and seeing the area.
You can even have them go to friends homes if they want to participate.

You could hide the cards in locations but they might get stolen and we aren't dealing with brain surgeons here. :)

We can cruise down from the Gateway to Niagara on Q.E.W.

I'm planning on stying at the park with Darkpuppet to man the disposable grills.

If everyone could bring their own drinks and meat, we shoul;d be able to get enoguh food to feed us all.

Please remember, bring your 2-way radios. These will be crucial to people who may get seperated from the pack.

I will discuss the route with MEFORD at the Wing-night this friday.

Niagara-on-the-lake Cruise 2005 (all Info Inside) - scoobasteve - 09-14-2005

hahaha, dom you gotta come and bring the hibachi, and take some incriminating sausage pics.

anthony you should post them up

Anthony or Steve... Where do you buy the disposable grilles. I'll pick up a couple too.
