Kms To A Tank
#21
I drove to Florida and back last year - 1 passenger, and the car was loaded with camping gear, but we had cruise control on most of the way, set to about 120km/h. We stopped for gas 11 times (though 1 stop was a 1/2 tank due to price).

- Average distance on a full tank of fuel: 482.58 km.
- Average L/100km for the roundtrip was 9.05.

- Furthest on 1 full tank: 581 km (coming down through the mountains from WV and all the way to SC)
- Shortest on 1 full tank: 405 km (driving north through a very flat Florida, windows down).
- # of times we got >500 km/fill-up: 3
- # of times we got <475 km/fill-up: 5

I find my everyday driving mileage (city/highway) is somewhere around 9L/100km, and 450km/tank is normal, anything more than that is rare.

2001 zx3, manual transmission
got AT LEAST 430 kms every tank when the fuel light comes on! with combined city/DVP/downtown driving, no matter driving hard or no.

i remember last tank i got it up to 530 before the light comes on.... i think mostly because the weather was damn good!

this is done with race header, exhaust, stage II cams (tuned), chip w/ egr off, pulley, etc.

mileage per tank really depends on how the car runs and weather in my opinion, driving habit counts too but it won't make u from 500 down to 300! and i found that manual tranny has better mileage per tank. (a side note, if air filter or oil filter or fuel filters is dirty, ur mileage per tank will suck for a noticable amount)

think again. $70 to fill and I am lucky to get 500kms to a tank.

Yeah mine too. Take that and add a heavy right foot and then you'd understand why the local gas attendent's call me by my first name! Last week the guy told me they were thinking about giving me my own pump!LMAO

I can get over 500 on the hwy (cant remember exact number) before the low fuel light comes on. I usually fill up just before it does, but im guessing I could get more. For in town I can get over 400, but there is some highway mixed in there too.

This one started as a Zetec-only thread, but has since devolved

I'll be around 550KMs on this tank, mostly half/half highway and city. I'm at 400KMs right now with 1/4 tank left. That's also indulging nicely in the upper rev ranges (read: enjoying the harmonious intake and exhaust noises) and a sustained 120+ run for 30+ KMs on the way back yesterday afternoon from Sudbury.

My average is 620-650KMs before hitting the reserve, with the best being around 700 on 40L.

The 5.4 V8 gets better gas mileage on the highway than the 4.6 V8. But that's only on the highway. For that kind of mileage they must have been doing the about 80-90 kph with no-one in the truck.

How boring is that.

Best I can manage is about 600 km running it dry. '02 ZX5 auto.

Usually it's conciderably less because I have a heavy foot.
