Exactly. My neighbour did the exact same thing you did to his wood door and within 3 years the door was toast. His daughter's bedroom was over the garage and she was constantly sick with ashma type coughing. He searched for the problem for over a year until one day he came home and the door fell apart as he opened it (auto garage door opener). When the door fell, he looked it over, found the wood to be rotten and enough mold to make you puke.

Take the insulation off, and in time, buy a good vinyl clad insulated door. I just found out from my builder that he has installed wood doors and I have urged him that I am willing to pay for that upgrade.
