First Drive Review Azenis Sport Rt615
#1
so i got the RT615s in 225/50/16 mounted on my sube this weekend and i've put about 100 miles of light street use on them, and here are my first impressions (keep in mind i'm coming from a set of similar size kumho MX)

sidewall stiffness: wow. these tires much stiff sidewalls than the kumhos. nothing has changed about my car other than the tires and bumps and other vibrations are much more noticeable now. turn in feels a bit more direct as well. the RT615 remind me a lot of the RT215 in terms of sidewall (stiff!)

grip: this one is a question mark since i can't come anywhere close to the traction limit of either the MX or the RT615 on the street. i'm expecting the azenis to have more grip, since they pick up a lot more debris on the rubber than the kumho (so at least they LOOK sticky). i'm going to the circuit in a few weeks, so i'll update with more info then. the MX were not very heat sensitive, so i'm slightly concerned that the RT615 have more grip at the expense of heat sensitivity.. we'll see

some qualitative notes:
- the tread does not look like it will be very effective at evacuating standing water. i will have to take it easy around standing water.. just like the RT215s
- the tires seem less noise than the MX
- it doesn't make sense to get anything more aggressive than this for street use.
